Dear ones,

Sometime in late November I decided to tackle a new project - crocheting a cardigan. I have never made garments for myself, except for winter and home accessories. A while ago I spotted the beautiful shrug crocheted by Maria Valles, and a desire to try to accomplish something similar came to me. I took advantage of the end of the year yarn sale my local Michael's had to stock up on yarn. Of course I quickly ran out of the four balls I had purchased and had to wait to get some more. I am currently at seven balls of yarn and I think it should be enough to complete this cardigan.

Many have asked me if it has been a difficult project, and the answer to that is no. If you know how to double crochet and make a granny square, then you can easily manage it. I brought my own modifications to the original instructions Maria kindly provided on her blog - and I guess that's what makes this project also unique in its own way. Because I haven't been pressuring myself regarding this project, it's been shaping itself slowly. I do hope to have it done within the next two to three weeks, in time for the February cold front (which I know is coming).

Have you been working on something recently?
