Hello everyone!
This past week has been pretty crazy with the amount of work I had (and still have) both on the school and work front. One of our PhD candidates defended and left for Philadelphia to start a new life with her hubby. It was a bittersweet moment, because I got so used to her around me. I even made her a coffee believer! haha Now it will feel weird being all on my own. We recently took in a volunteer into our lab and she will be with us for a year, so I think that should help ease the loneliness, even if it's only for an hour. Besides that, the semester is slowly winding down, and the amount of work is just increasing. I still need to submit my assignment for Biostats and take a quiz for Molecular Biology today. I am getting excited to be almost done with the semester! I just need to hang in there for the next two weeks and then it will all be over... for a little while.

On another note, I am running a 5K next weekend! I signed up for the Susan G Komen Race For The Cure and need to run more this week to ready myself for this. It's been a while since my last official race, hasn't it? This time, the race is timed. Which means things are getting slightly more serious :)

Sundays call for comfort food. And this bowl of Thai Chicken Noodle Soup looks like it would sit well with me on a "lazy" day like today. Get the recipe here.

I've been talking a lot about being mindful and do everything with intent over the last months, but maybe I haven't talked about it long enough? It seems that it is a never ending topic, considering the amount of things we can learn from the topic, the inspiration we can draw and the vision we can nurture for ourselves and those around. If like me, you are still working on being mindful, check out this great read on how to get there.

Another post on mindfulness and slowing down, from Helena's perspective. It is nice to read how others are making small changes to their lives and what aspirations they have for themselves. A good read.

Who can resist homemade Milano cookies? Not me for sure! Ah! I cannot wait to try this recipe!

  1. That's so brave that you signed up for the race! Even though I run, I'd never have the courage to run at an event.
