We've had rain since we moved to 2015. That makes two days of rain. I secretly love it, as it connects me to my childhood memories - memories of heavy storms in Cameroon. I love crawling into my bed, reading a good book while listening to the rain hit the gravel and my window. I love sipping all day long on hot beverages - although that is valid anytime of the year, and not have to get out of my PJs. Yes, rainy days are a great excuse to just relax and not have to hurry someplace. So in some ways, you can say that I am thankful for these days.

Rain puddles in the front yard/ court of my apartment. Such a romantic view from my windows.
Only two more days left of my mini winter break. Monday I will be back at work, and planning new experiments and thinking of my upcoming manuscript. Soon classes will start again, and I will be ridiculously busy. It will be exciting, all that pressure. I know, I am weird. But until Monday comes along, I will be enjoying the quietness of my apartment, catching up with blogs, books and working on my novel (which I have not completed as I hoped during the NaNoWriMo month).

Today's mini goals include:
  • Work on my novel for an hour, non stop. See how many words I can crunch in.
  • Read for an hour. Currently I am reading The Gift by Cecelia Ahern. You can track my progress by adding me on GoodReads.
If you want to share with me your blog, please leave a link to it in the comments sections. I love discovering new blogs. I hope you all are having a good, cozy, Friday!

  1. I love rainy days too and that cozy feeling of being inside, warm, while outside is raining. I'm also using these days to relax and read some books / blogs. What's your novel about? (If I may ask) Anyway, good luck on that and all your projects for 2015!

Rainy days are great! But not too many haha. I do find it relaxing as well, just love to sit down with some tea and watch it fall sometimes :) Beautiful photos!

  3. Yes, too many rainy days in a row, and you can start feeling sad :)
    Thank you for stopping by!

  4. I totally understand what you mean, Mariuca! It's good that you are taking advantage of these days to relax, it is important to recharge our batteries from time to time :)

Regarding my novel... well I don't have the whole plot down yet (I add stuff as I go) but so far it's the story of a young woman who gets kicked out of her mom's house and goes to find her father. Throughout her journey she will meet people, deal with her father's unexpected condition, and learn more about herself and her purpose in life. Something like that. I am still working the ropes haha When I will finish it, I'll be seeking some beta readers, so if you'd like to be considered, let me know and I will keep you in mind ;)

    Thank you for stopping by!

  5. It's raining where I am as well! Such a good idea to have mini goals daily. It's the best way to reach big and major goals.

  6. That sounds great! very ambitious but very simple at the same time(in a good way)! I love these kind of novels, where a real journey becomes a deep inner journey, it's such a great opportunity to reflect on so many topics, so enjoyable to read. Definitely count on me if you need beta readers! what an honor! ^^

  7. Haha thank you Mariuca! Hopefully I will get to the end of it. Writing is such a lonely business, really. When I do finish I will get in touch with you ;)

  8. Thank you for following my blog Anouk. Really love yours too, glad I came across it the other day! As for mini goals, it is the best way to meet the deadlines :)
