Long time, no see! I am truly sorry my dears for not updating this corner for such a long time! Truth is, my Mac crashed not once, but four times since last time I blogged. I took it to Apple store each time and each time the same problem seemed to peep its nose out. Well, this time, the people at the University Park sent my computer to the big guys (I guess in Dallas?) and now my baby is back! And my data has been preserved (not that I was worried about it since I backup everything). Anyway, so far so good, and I hope that the problem has been forever taken care off. But I am glad that it was under warranty - it saved me from paying close to $900 in repair!!! So yeah, if you are thinking about investing in a Mac, please get that extended warranty. If something bad happens you will not be sorry, because the Applecare team is Awesome!

I know the month of January isn't over yet, but considering the fact that I have been MIA for a couple of weeks now, I thought it would be nice to let you know what I have been up to.
  1. I finally ordered a French Press and have been brewing a fresh and delicious cup of coffee almost every morning. The taste is so much better than when you brew your coffee using a coffee machine. Still not convinced? Honey at Honey What's Cooking? made a really good Taste Test using both methods.
  2. I finally got around repurposing a dead tree branch in my apartment. If you have been following me on Instagram, you probably remember my post regarding this matter? Well I am super happy with the result.
  3. Beginning of December, I had purchased tickets to go see the North Central Ballet's performance of the Nutcracker. Of course, the D-Day I wasn't able to go because of severe weather, and had to wait until January 4th to see the performance. The wait was definitely worth it, and I really enjoyed myself.
  4. January so far has been all about trying new bread recipes. I finally succeeded in making an almost perfect french baguette, filled with an amazing slow cooked shredded beef according to the recipe of Robyn from Add A Pinch. Top all of that with a homemade Boursin recipe. Mhmmmm. It was like eating magic. No worries, a recipe is coming up soon!
  5. Besides Graduate School work, I have also been eating out a lot - bad bad for me!
  6. I have also made a new friend and we have been studying a lot these past couple of days trying to be ready for the first exam in Physiology (eek!)
  7. I have also received a free HP Photosmart printer from one of my classmates and I cannot wait to start printing!
  8. I made a couple of new sketches, which you can see on my Instagram account @kalieta
  9. I am pleased to see that I have gained a few followers on this blog and on Bloglovin. Thank you for your support! If you have not yet followed the blog, please do so by clicking on the icons below!
  10. Finally, January has been really good for me on the fitness plan: I have been working out pretty much every day, running most of the time. I really want to make that 10K!
I hope that January has been kind to you so far!

xo,

Colette
